Another Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce wedding guest speaks out after ‘tacky’ buffet slammed

Jennifer Nettles called Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding “special” as another guest defended the wedding after critics slammed its reported buffet as “tacky”
Jennifer Nettles is the latest guest to share details about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding as criticism of the couple’s buffet continues online.
The Sugarland singer attended the large Madison Square Garden ceremony and said she was grateful to witness the couple exchange vows.
“To be a part of even a small part of their story for me was super special because, obviously, these are two people who are at the absolute top of their industry, the top of their game, the top of their craft, the top of their artistry,” Jennifer told PEOPLE. The news follows Taylor and Travis’ wedding guests shocked by a ‘tacky’ buffet.
“It’s such an important time in their lives. To be able to witness that very special moment, it’s beautiful.”
Jennifer spoke about the wedding while attending the July 10 opening night of her off-Broadway musical, Giulia: The Poison Queen of Palermo.
Her comments come after some critics online called parts of the wedding reception “tacky,” including the newlyweds’ buffet.
Jennifer did not discuss the food or respond directly to the criticism.
Instead, she spoke about how surprised she was to be invited.
Jennifer and Taylor have known each other for years. Taylor also wrote Sugarland’s 2018 song Babe and appeared on the recording.
“It all surprised me, because of course, no one knew anything,” Jennifer said of the wedding plans. “I guess people had, there were leaks here and there where people were guessing, but no one knew for sure where we were going until much closer to the time.”
Around 1,000 guests reportedly attended the wedding, including major names from music, sports and Hollywood.
Taylor, 36, and Travis reportedly each spent about 20 minutes reading their vows from gold books.
Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony. Taylor’s brother, Austin, served as her man of honor, while Travis’ brother, Jason, was his best man.
Jennifer said being included meant a lot because of her history with Taylor and her respect for the singer’s career.
“I’m so proud to have been even a little part of her story,” Jennifer said. “Obviously, throughout her history, she and I have worked together before, and I have such an admiration for her and what she has done.”
“As a songwriter, you can’t touch her,” she added. “She’s the biggest artist of all time, really of our generation.”
Jennifer had also spoken publicly about Taylor and Travis’ relationship before the wedding.
In February 2024, she said she hoped Taylor would find happiness in her personal life.
“Taylor is such a lovely human being, and I want her to find love just like everybody else,” Nettles said at the time. “I am invested in that for her.”
Taylor and Travis began dating in the summer of 2023.
It comes as Taylor suffered a brief wardrobe malfunction at a wedding alongside Kelce.
