Halo Studios Head Accused Of Abuse And Mismanagement

Halo Studios head Pierre Hintze is facing accusations of mismanagement and abuse. Current and former employees who worked at the studio within the last year have allegedly spoken to prominent content creator Rebs Gaming—known for his exclusive reports and insider coverage of the series—about how Hintze is “destroying the Halo franchise.”
According to Rebs, Pierre was “reported to human resources multiple times by multiple employees for several different reasons.” He was accused of berating the development teams to such a point that they would withhold their work out of fear of him “blowing up at them”; the engineering team allegedly delivered a memo about work-life balance, to which Pierre responded, “I don’t give a fu**”; he allegedly downplayed employees who questioned becoming full-time; and someone who recently left the studio and worked closely with leadership alleged that they were “verbally blasted by Pierre.”
“It’s emotional and shocking,” they explained. “And to this day, I cannot believe Microsoft HR and Microsoft Legal did not give me the time of day. Pierre literally told me to get the fu** out of the studio. It traumatized me.”
Rebs alleges that former Campaign Evolved executive producer Michael Farney, who was friends with Pierre and even supposedly called him family, wasn’t exempt from the abuse. “Pierre was very cruel to Michael and berated him during Campaign Evolved’s development, which was not going well,” Rebs claimed. “Because of this, Michael was demoted, took a medical leave, and was quietly let go by Pierre during his medical leave.”
Campaign Evolved Was “Poorly Planned And Managed” Because Of Hintze, It’s Claimed
The remake’s tumultuous development was allegedly described to Rebs as “poorly planned and managed” because of Hintze, who failed to create an internal roadmap and “constantly changed priorities for the development team.” Former art director Glenn Israel, who worked on the series for 17 years, also described “the catastrophic mismanagement of Halo Campaign Evolved,” corroborating Rebs’ report.
“A lot of people worked very hard to salvage Campaign Evolved,” Rebs said. “The development team rallied and saved the project and deserve praise for digging the game out of the hole that was created by Pierre. These people want and are trying to make Halo succeed. But Pierre is leading the studio and franchise to ruin.”
The problems with Halo Studios leadership don’t stop at Hintze, either. Rebs alleges that studio art director Chris Matthews hired “a bunch of his friends” instead of choosing more qualified candidates. He was also supposedly “reported to human resources multiple times, including for saying inappropriate things to co-workers.” Israel likewise alleged earlier this year that he “witnessed firsthand or was personally subjected to numerous unethical and/or unlawful acts committed by senior Halo Studios representatives, including (but not limited to) blacklisting, fraud, rampant favoritism/cronyism, and multiple harassment campaigns.”
