The Octopath Traveler series is expanding on Nintendo Switch 2 with native versions of Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler 2. Both will launch as digital downloads today.
News about this just dropped during an anniversary live stream. Square Enix held the event to celebrate the series’ eighth anniversary.
We’re waiting to hear about what exactly will be included in these new Nintendo Switch 2 versions. The game content should be identical, but if nothing else, there should be a resolution bump.
Octopath Traveler 1 and 2 were previously playable on Nintendo Switch 2 via backwards compatibility. The system also received a native version of Octopath Traveler 0.

Some people thrill to glamorous stars of the stage and industry, while others are brought to tears by war, plague, and poverty.
In this faraway realm, eight travelers hailing from different regions venture forth for their own reasons. Step into their shoes and explore the land as you see fit, using their unique talents to aid you along your journey.
