PS5 emulator reaches GTA V menus, first 3D games now loading on PCs

KytyPS5 emulator now renders commercial 3D PS5 games

Only two days after our report on the growing PS5 emulation race, one of the projects has shown further progress. KytyPS5 can now boot the PlayStation 5 version of GTA V and reach its menus and settings. Quake II has also been shown reaching gameplay, although neither result indicates that the games are playable from start to finish.
The project’s GitHub page has also been updated with screenshots of PowerWash Simulator and PAC-MAN WORLD running in-game. Both are commercial 3D releases, moving KytyPS5 beyond the 2D titles and startup screens demonstrated by several PS5 emulators last week. These are among the first commercial 3D PS5 games publicly shown rendering gameplay through this project.

Compatibility takes priority over performance
The developer describes KytyPS5 as a PlayStation 5 compatibility layer for Windows. It can boot 2D games and some commercial 3D titles built with Unreal Engine 4, Unreal Engine 5, Unity and custom engines. The current priority is fixing startup problems and expanding compatibility, rather than visual accuracy or high performance.
KytyPS5 can boot and go in-game with 2D games and some 3D commercial games, including titles built with Unreal Engine 4/5, Unity, and custom game engines.
No LLE modules are currently required.
The main priority is improving compatibility and fixing boot issues. Perfect visual accuracy and high FPS are not the main focus yet.
Version 0.0.3 improves virtual memory allocation to reduce boot times. It also adds a new SRT shader-binding system, AMPR optimizations, Pthread fixes, new LibUlt ABIs and a compatibility database inside the user interface. General stability and graphics fixes are included as well.
The developer warns that some games have regressed and recommends version 0.0.2 for broader compatibility, although that build may display more graphical errors. KytyPS5 has mainly been tested with NVIDIA GPUs, while AMD and Intel GPU support may be incomplete.
GTA V PS5 version running on PCs is more a proof of concept than anything actually useful. The game already has a native PC version that runs exceptionally well, even on integrated graphics.
